“The Wild Rover” on samuti Šoti algupärand, mis on Iirimaale rännanud ja kõvasti vanem kui “Molly Malone”: esimesed segase käekirjaga üleskirjutised pärinevad 16. sajandi algupoolelt.
Lugu jutustab noormehest, kes mööda ilma rännates raha teeninud ja nüüd ühes pubis juua tahab, aga daam leti ääres keeldub andmast. Siis lööb noorsand lauale teenitud kulla ja kurdab oma kurba saatust, kuidas ta pole asu leidnud ei siin ei seal.
Natuke meenutab see meie “Tule tuul ja tõuka paati…” lugu, kus Kura ema süüdistab maapoissi joomarluses ja hobusevarguses ega täi talle oma tütart naiseks anda.
